Mandated Reporter

Who is mandated reporter ?

In Georgia law, it designates certain professionals as mandated reporters of child abuse or neglect [OCGA 19-7-5(c)(1)].

If you are one of the following people and have reasonable cause to believe that a child has been abused, you must make a report, immediately but no later than 24 hours, to your local DFCS office or law enforcement and are subject to criminal penalty for failing to do so.

Mandated Reporter Training is available online by clicking on the Pro Solutions hyperlink on the CPS Website home page. This valuable online training is available for free any time of day that you may want to use it. It is one-hour of your time to learn how to better recognize the indicators of abuse and neglect, understand your role in responsible reporting, and identifying the groups of children that may be at a higher risk of being abused or neglected. You can begin reporting on this website after completing the online training @ https://www.prosolutionstraining.com/. Our mandated reporter courses are free – all you need is a Pro Solutions Training account. You'll be able to print a certificate and access code as soon as you complete the course and test, and we include IACET CEUs on each certificate at no charge.

Should you experience technical issues on the CPS website, please send an email with details about your issue to CPS_Support@dhs.ga.gov. If you need assistance specific to how to make a CPS report , please login to the CPS website and then click “Help Document” from “Resources”. If the CPS website is inaccessible, please call the CPS Hotline to make your report of abuse/neglect. If you need to check the status of a report previously submitted, please call 1-855-422-4453 and press option 4.
